About the Guild

REAP's Guilds are volunteer-led communities centered around a regenerative practice, climate solution, or area of the campus. Rather than simply volunteering on projects, Guild members steward a shared space, build community, experiment with new ideas, and help teach others.

The Compost Technologies Guild is responsible for one of the most important systems on campus. Compost is where food waste becomes fertile soil, carbon is returned to the earth, and visitors discover how nature recycles nutrients to regenerate ecosystems. From hot compost and vermicompost to compost extracts and emerging compost technologies, the Guild helps transform composting into both a functioning campus system and an educational experience for visitors each year.

Role Summary

We're looking for a volunteer Guild Lead to help steward REAP's Compost Technologies Guild and shape its long-term vision.

This is a leadership role focused on community building as much as composting. You'll help organize volunteers, identify improvement projects, develop educational programming and curriculum, and create a welcoming environment where people of all experience levels can learn together. You'll work alongside REAP staff to maintain existing systems while exploring new ideas that advance regenerative land management.

You don't need to do everything yourself. Your role is to help build a community that accomplishes more together than any one person could alone.

⏰ Time Commitment

This role is highly impactful and rewarding, but we want to be upfront that our most successful Guild Leads dedicate:

• Approximately 3–5 hours per week on a consistent basis

• Regular participation in Sunday Volunteer Workdays and occasional Wednesday evening community programming

• Ongoing communication with REAP staff and Guild members to keep projects moving forward including a weekly Guild Lead meeting

• This role has in-person and remote components.

This is a leadership role focused on both scientific curiosity and community building. We're looking for a volunteer Guild Lead to help steward REAP's Renewable Energy Lab and oversee the health and development of our off-grid energy systems.

This is a technical leadership role. You'll help maintain our existing solar and battery infrastructure, identify opportunities for system improvements, and work with REAP staff to ensure our renewable energy systems remain safe, functional, and reliable. You'll also help build relationships with renewable energy companies, installers, and industry partners who may be interested in donating equipment, providing technical expertise, or supporting future campus projects.

Help create a welcoming experience for everyone arriving at REAP. As a Campus Greeter, you'll welcome volunteers and visitors, help people get oriented, answer basic questions, and ensure everyone feels comfortable from the moment they arrive.

Behind every great workshop is a clean, organized, and well-prepared space. As a Workshop Assistant, you'll help maintain REAP's workshop areas so instructors, volunteers, and visitors have everything they need for safe, enjoyable, and productive hands-on learning.

Every newsletter, event announcement, social media post, and website update helps more people discover REAP and become part of our growing community. This role plays an important part in sharing the stories, projects, and opportunities that make REAP a unique place to learn and take action on climate solutions.

Role Summary

We're looking for a volunteer Marketing & Communications Lead to help coordinate REAP's ongoing communications and outreach efforts.

This is an administrative leadership role that can be completed primarily remotely. You'll work alongside REAP staff using our established systems and processes to keep our communications organized, consistent, and engaging. Rather than building everything from scratch, you'll help maintain and improve an existing communications workflow while bringing your own creativity and ideas to the role.

You don't need to be a professional marketer—we're looking for someone who is organized, enjoys writing and storytelling, and wants to help more people discover REAP.
