What You’ll Do

  • Get hands-on training in regenerative practices.

  • Learn from local experts in soil health, waste-to-resource innovation, and restoration.

  • Build professional skills through career development and workforce workshops.

  • Connect with a network of employers, mentors, and community partners.

  • Receive a total stipend award of $1,150 for participating in the program and a certificate that leads to industry-valued job opportunities.

What You’ll Learn

Participants will sign up to be trained in one of two practices:

  • Compost: Learn all about compost, including what it is, what it’s useful for, and how to manage and apply it. Participants will receive a Compost Practices Certificate.

  • Biochar: Learn about biochar, including how to safely create and manage this important regenerative tool that improves soil health and water retention. Participants will receive a Biochar Practices Certificate.

  • Professional Development: All participants receive career coaching, including resume review, interview preparation help, workplace advocacy training, and more!

Eligibility Requirements

This program is intended for Bay Area communities that have historically been excluded from economic and environmental opportunities, such as low-income individuals, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) populations, veterans, and those re-entering the workforce.

  • Ages 18+

  • Entry-level, no experience required

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs

  • Enroll by January 30, 2025

💰 Total Stipend Award: $1,150

📆 Schedule: Each course lasts 6 weeks, with 4 weeks of regenerative training and 2 weeks of professional development. Participants will meet Tuesday evenings (over Zoom), and Sundays (in person) with 2 hours of independent study.
