Metal Shop

Our metal shop is critical in the creation of our campus and in supporting our programs. It is also a learning zone that allows people to take away skills for personal and professional projects!

To make this happen we need interested community members like you to pursue these amazing interests with us! Join our community and work on behalf of your community.

There are 2 main ways to stay engaged:

  • Email List: We’ll keep you posted on what’s going on.

  • Guild: A little more hands on, a lot like a club!

Our Program

At our Metal Shop, we seek to transform donated scrap metal into functional and artistic structures that serve our community, create partnerships, and contribute to our mission. By merging creativity with technical expertise, we foster a learning environment that nurtures passion, skills, and a sense of responsibility towards our environment. All of the work done in our metal shop is contextual to our mission in workforce development and ecological experiences.

Our metal shop supports REAP in two critical ways: by helping expand our campus and its infrastructure and by acting as a site for workforce hands-on training in metalworking and welding. By offering comprehensive workshops, apprenticeships, and skill-building programs, we aim to cultivate a talented and diverse pool of individuals equipped with specialized skills in metal fabrication. By transforming donated scrap metal into functional structures, we significantly reduce waste and minimize our carbon footprint.

Our Vision

  • Continuing to create functional infrastructure: construct practical structures using sustainable materials, enhancing the usability and beauty of our campus.

  • Provide educational workshops: designed to foster a sense of camaraderie, skill-sharing, and continuous learning within our community.

  • Welding Training: equips individuals with industry-recognized certifications, preparing them for successful careers in various sectors, including construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
