Workforce Development

This unique program sits at the core of REAP’s aspirations: to give people the training and the tools they need to do climate work, and to help create and implement nature-based solutions. REAP also aims to create paths for this work, through policy, certifications, and credentials.

Use the Systems We Have

Make the Ones We Need

REAP is proud to be fostering multiple workforce development partnerships. This allows us to place people who need jobs into systems that are already doing their own climate action!

Through our partnerships with organizations rooted in nature-based solutions, we are able to find where structure is needed and then help create those structures.

Create Systems Change

A Case Study: Oysters are the number one player in mitigating coastal erosion after mangroves, which do not grow on the West Coast of the United States.

There are certifications for Oyster fisheries, to farm oysters, but none training specifically on how to raise oysters to help protect our coastlines and the communities they support.

Through our partnership with the Wild Oyster Project were able to identify this need, so we can help shape a credential program and pipeline for mitigating sea-level rise using oysters!

Scale it Up

We are part of the process of transitioning over 100 million people into nature-based solutions, while restoring nature along the way.

REAP is a template for how to do this on a local level, that can be connected to and replicated on a county, state, federal, and global scale.
